It is not every day that you install a green moss wall to an ex-Royal Mail ship. Well, it isn’t for Vantage Spaces anyway. A few weeks ago, we wrote about providing biophilia for the new HQ of the e-racing series offices. But this isn’t the only project we have had in the world of racing recently.
The all-electric, off-road cousin of Formula E, this series brings electric racing to some of the most remote corners of the planet to highlight the climate change challenges faced by different ecosystems. With a calendar of worldwide races, the series required a travelling base that looked after both the crew and the planet.
In keeping with the series’ climate change mission, the floating HQ refit was designed to leave as small an ecological footprint as possible.
The modernisation included low-energy LED lights, low-water consumption and a hydroponic system.
From our biophilia consultation, it was clear that Vantage Spaces’s biophilia must also meet these interests.
Taking the unique demands of the floating HQ into account during our biophilic consultation, we decided to install one of our moss walls.
As the race series will be travelling across the world from race to race, unfortunately, we can’t join them. So we needed to install biophilia that required little to no maintenance.
Unlike our live plants and other Envirowalls, our green moss walls meet this need. Our green moss walls are constructed from clusters of moss that thrives in damp, unlit conditions. As moss is very versatile and practical, the walls are ideal for low light environments.
Therefore, our moss walls are a perfect way to introduce greenery without the chore of maintaining it. Plus, they bring the same great health benefits of all our plants, including increased happiness and productivity.
Why Vantage Spaces?
We aren’t just a supplier of plants. Vantage Spaces work with our clients to plan, source, and provide the right plants for their space, ensuring they get the benefits of biophilia and fitting them within the environment’s aesthetics.
